The engineering station control system to be provided by Schneider Electric will enable real-time, remote monitoring and management of the new pipeline and support the operations efficiency of the company. Further, seamlessly integrated information management solutions support timely business decisions and contribute to financial governance, security, and environmental accountability goals.

CNPC is China's largest oil and gas producer and supplier. With a presence in nearly 70 countries, it also is one of the world's major oilfield service providers and a globally reputed contractor in engineering construction.

CNPC will deploy Schneider Electric’s OASyS enterprise control and monitoring solution system, fully integrated with Liquids Management System (LMS), Gas Measurement and Analysis System (GMAS), and leak detection system applications. CNPC will rely on this solution to provide both the reliable monitoring and control that supports efficient production and dispatching as well as the information and business management that enables good operational and business decisions. A strong advocate of environmental responsibility, CNPC particularly appreciates the real-time leak detection capability, customised to meet its pipeline-specific requirements.

With the upcoming Sino-Myanmar pipeline, a key state project reflecting international energy trade, Schneider Electric’s enterprise control and monitoring technology will not only guarantee the safe and smooth transmission of oil and gas but also make available the reliable metering data needed for proper custody transfer between China and Myanmar. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.

According to Schneider Electric's smart infrastructure division executive VP, Ignacio Gonzalez, “Knowing CNPC’s dedication to social and environmental responsibility, and its goal of advancing its role as an international energy supplier, we fully appreciate the company’s continuing confidence in, and reliance on, our advanced technology solutions, from the field to the business and decision-making level of the company.”

The Sino-Myanmar pipeline project continues Schneider Electric’s six-year relationship with CNPC, during which time it has provided the control technology for the company’s Lan-Zheng-Chang project, West Pipeline crude oil and refined products project, and recent Beijing Master Control Centre project.
