(Image source: SPETCO)Kuwait-based Safwan Petroleum Technologies Company (SPETCO) has said that it is looking to expand its upstream oil and gas services in Iraq and Saudi Arabia

Speaking about the company’s goal with Oil Review Middle East at ADIPEC 2013, Anish Abraham, manager-OFS/BD of SPETCO, said that the company was looking to expand its services to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar. Abraham added that, at present, its specific attention in terms of marketing and distribution was towards Erbil in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

The company provides upstream services ranging from well testing services, artificial lift systems, production facilities, tubular services.

Abraham said, “We provide our clients with complete services, becoming a turnkey solutions provider, leveraging our global network and strategic alliances to extend total service and procurement solutions to our customers by offering them a complete package of the above mentioned services to fulfill their requirements.”

He added that SPETCO was an indigenous company in the Middle East region with complete working knowledge of the oil and gas industry and gave it a operational edge over the international service companies.

Talking about the focus on gas industry at ADIPEC this year, Abraham said that with almost 42 per cent of the world’s proven gas resources in the region, all the national oil companies are looking forward to the gas industry as an alternative to the growing energy demands of the region.

“The Middle East gas industry is still in its early day, but it is making rapid progress towards reaching the same levels attained in the oil production,” he added.

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), meanwhile, has commissioned the company to design, construct, operate and maintain gas sweetening facility and gas compression and re-injection facility in the country.

Currently, SPETCO operates in Kuwait and the UAE and has setup a branch in Erbil.
